It seems like nowadays I'm crying myself into my breakthrough.
This life thing can be pretty tough and messy. I'm starting to realize there is definitely no cookie cutter way of living this thing except for by trial and error.
It's as though with all the things you expect to work towards your favor, is the very thing working against you… And the very thing that seems to be working against you, is actually working for you…
Everything we experience in life serves its purpose. As annoying as something's maybe or seem, in the grand scheme of things they are all working together to bring you closer to your destiny.
If you haven't read my latest Reformed Stupid Girl post entitled A Letter to the Father I Never Knew, I finally had a breakthrough in my personal life regarding acknowledging, confessing and forgiving myself for my feelings towards my father.
Trust me, it was not something I really wanted to share about myself. But I knew, not only would it be cathartic for me, but also it could help someone else that shares my sentiments. There's something about simply acknowledging our pain that helps bring a sense of relief from our shoulders.
The hardest part is acknowledging and confessing the pain. But after doing so, the real work itself kicks in when you have to make a daily decision to heal and work past that pain as well.
To heal is a constant decision we have to make literally everyday, every hour, every minute and sometimes every moment.
It is so easy to hide and isolate ourselves from everything and everyone, just as a way of protecting ourselves. It is only natural for our instinctive defense mechanisms to go into high gear when we feel unsafe or that we are being attacked. But sooner or later, we have to put those guards down allow ourselves to go through the pain in order to receive joy in the end.
When our faith is being tested from every direction, this is when we must dig in our heals and prepare for the fight of our life. We have to give it everything we have to fight for our sanity, peace of mind and ultimately for the life we know we deserve to have. My pastor likes to call it fighting the good fight of faith!
You do realize that many of the things we truly desire out of life requires a lot pushing and knocking down barriers on our part right?
Life will throw a lot of resistance our way. Make us want to give up every chance we get. But will you just lay down and die or fight back for what is truly yours?!
I know I say this often, but we only have one chance in life to get it right! We will never have a perfect life by any means, but we can strive for the best life everyday.
Wake up every morning with a purpose in mind and a heart to go after it regardless of that resistance...
Your life story and personal breakthroughs will help inspire the next person to make it through themselves.
You are worth the fight. You are worth the investment. You are worth living a free and abundant life. And above all, you are worth being loved, cherished and respected!
But it all starts with you and the choices you choose to make each and every day.
Just something for you beautiful ladies to think about...
As always stay beautiful, blessed and divinely favored!
